*Love Song and Lyrics*

* Quote and Interpretation*Act 1*
"Compare he face with some I shall show,
And I will make thee think thy swan a crow." (-Benvolio I, ii)

This quote is really a way Benvolio tries to get Romeo to feel better. He is so in love with Rosaline that he just mopes around all the time. When this quote is said, it means he is going to introduce Romeo to way prettier girls at the party. Romeo thinks Rosaline is a beautiful swan now, but after the party, Benvolio knows he will think she is ugly in comparison to all the other girls.

This quote is really how many people feel today. Beauty is the only think that people think about when it comes to dating. And when they break up they think if they pick a prettier girl or a cuter boy that then everything will be just fine. This quote shows how shallow Benvolio really is when it comes to girls. He thinks if Romeo just sees another girl he will be okay and back to his old self. I think this is such a good example of how not to view a relationship.

(Friar II, iii)

I think this quote is a perfect example of what things are like today. Many guys just look to the their right, see a pretty girl, and decide to take the next step. Let's face it, people who are in their teens are not meant to make such life changing decisions. A teenagers view of love is the same as their view of their favorite song. No one has the same favorite song forever. The songs become more updated and cool and they move on. The love cools off and they realize it wasn't love as first sight it was just love moved by sight.

This quote said by the Friar is a perfect example of true maturity and wisdom. The people who are older and have experienced more are the ones who should be having real relationships, not foolish, irrational teenagers. When Friar Lawerence said this, he showed that wisdom is in years, not in your mind. This quote should show people the importance of chosing wisely at the right time. Even though young men are the ones who are brought out here, young women are just as guilty now a days.

* Act 3 Quote Interpretation*
Some grief shows much love. ( Lady Capulet III, V)

I really liked this quote because it shows feeling and heartfelt love for someone. I always remember when I was younger, when someone I loved would leave and i wouldn't see them in a while, I would cry. This is kind of what Lady Capulet is saying here. She is showing that when someone you love leaves you, whether in death or just for a little while, it can be heartbreaking. This shows the type of character Juliet's mother is. She is kind and caring and she feels grief over the death of her family member. Now most people feel the same way. When they someone they love dies, they show so much grief over them. This grief shows the depth of love that is had for a person. Grief really isn't a sign of weakness, it is a sign of care and compassion and i admire that quality.

*Act 4 Quote Interpretation*
"Immoderately she weeps for Tybalt's death and therefore have little talked of love, for venus smiles not on a house of tears." (Paris IV, i)

I really liked this quote because of the irony and truthfulness of it. Even though Juliet isn't weeping over her cousin, this quote still shows the raw emotion of what sadness does to you. Sometimes you may cry, other times you may not know what to feel. Here Juliet shows how she handles the whole situation with Romeo. She can't even talk to fiance or anyone because she is so distraught. I know the last thing I would want to do when I am feeling sad is get married. Marriage is such a happy time, but when you are sad it is something that no one would be able to enjoy.

This shows how people today feel about grief and sadness. They don't even want to discuss anything especially love. Here Juliet is probably thinking love is the last thing she wants to talk about since her love was banished. I really loved how this quote speaks to the grieving ones.

*Quote and Interpretation*
"Miscarried by my fault, let my old life be sacrificed some hour before his time unto the rigor of severest law." (Friar V, iii)

After the Friar had done his task for Romeo and Juliet, he was off the hook. That is until he realized they killed themselves all because of his unsuccessful plan. I think this quote shows how truly wise the Friar is and how he is very humble. Humility is a quality that most people today do not have. The are always thinking of themselves and never of others. They would rather lie their way out of their faults then take the fall. So when the Friar said this, no wonder everyone forgave him. They all realized that he was a good man and willing to admit his mistakes.

This is a good example for us today also. If we get ourselves into trouble, this helps us to see that coming clean is the best solution. Even if you may be punished, that is what molds you into the person you want to be. I really love this quote and i think everyone should have this unselfish attitude and take responsibility for their actions.
